Care Instructions

USING YOUR CANDLE

  • ALWAYS refer to the safety & warning label attached to the bottom of your candle.
  • On the first lighting, burn your candle long enough for a melt pool to develop evenly across the diameter of your candle, this usually takes approx 2-2.5hrs to achieve. Why: so your melt pool develops evenly to avoid potential wick tunneling.
  • To achieve the maximum burn time from your candle, burn no longer than 3 – 4 hours at a time. Why: Burning for longer than 4 hours at a time can create a very long wick which can fall into the melt pool and ruin the scent throw. Also, the glass/container can become too hot & crack.
  • Trim the wick to 5-7mm above the wax line before each use, using a pair of scissors or a wick trimmer & always ensure the wick is upright before each use.
  • Replace the lid to the candle after it has cooled to retain the fragrance.
  • Keep away from natural drafts and air conditioner vents to avoid any spills & also to retain your scent throw so the candle can burn evenly across. If there is 'hang-up' on the side of the container/glass, this is most commonly cause from being situated in a drafty spot. For best results, move to an alternate location.

USING YOUR MELT PODS & CLAM PACKS

  •  ALWAYS start with your warmer turned off (if using a tealight warmer, start with no flame present).
  • Gently squeeze the base of your pot to loosen the wax & pop into the clean, dry and cool warmer bowl. Break off one cube if using a clam shell pack. (can use more to achieve the desired scent throw, paying careful attention not to allow spillage by using too many cubes at once.)
  •  Turn on your warmer or light your candle if using a tealight warmer.
  •  DO NOT leave unattended (do not leave on when you are not home)
  •  When you have finished with your scent, carefully place several cotton wool balls into the melted wax to soak up the pool of wax or alternatively place the removable warmer bowl on a heat proof plate and sit in the fridge to harden. Once hard you can pop the wax out into the bin.
  • NEVER poor your hot wax down the sink - this may cause blockages.

Never leave the warmer or candles unattended.

USING YOUR BEESWAX PRODUCTS

  • Beeswax gets very hot! It has a much higher melting point than other waxes, so care should be taken when handling containers/glassware of hot beeswax.
  • Place your beeswax melt in a well-ventilated, approved wax melt warmer and never add water.  They come in a variety of styles, some use tea lights however a flame should never touch the melt bowl, there should be at least a 5 cm clearance to prevent it catching fire.  There are many unsafe burners on the market. Please consider this BEFORE using.
  • We recommend our Electric Illumination Warmers which are safe to use with no open flame, and warm the wax at a lower temperature.
  • Never use an oil burner, heat on a stove or use any other non-approved burner, they get too hot!
  • Do not heat if the melting bowl contains less than 1cm of wax - please discard of the old wax prior or add another melt if safe to do so without over-filling the bowl to prevent hot spills.
  • Never place burners near flammable objects like curtains, soft furnishings or flammable liquids or gases.
